soundcore Sleep A30 Special / Sleep A30 | The World's First Smart ANC Sleep Earbuds

Lunar white review after few nights of using them:
I originally had the A30 not the special version which was part of the Kickstarter, at that time this product had few issues and I ended up returning them. fast forward I want to give them another try but I discovered that Soundcore is now offering the special version.

1. This sleep buds requires a lot of time to discover which ear tips and wings that makes them comfortable. I kept switching between sizes and trying different ear wings until I am settled with the medium foam ear tip and xs ear wing for both ears. (I think people who does not really spend time and try different sizes will not like these earbuds and when I say try different ear tips/wings I mean to actually use them for the night and switch. I used to only try for like few mins and then switch to another size ear tips/wings. the problem here is every ear is different and depending on the room temp. the earbuds can start moving if your ear gets warm or little bit moist. in general if you truly want these sleep buds to work try different ear tips/wings until you find the right fit). once I had the right size they became comfortable however sometimes during the night I might need to readjust the right earbud because I usually sleep on my right side and this can make the earbuds move just a little bit.

update: even with XS ear wing sometimes the earbuds makes that noise from the silicone rubbing against my ear skin as if it was sticking and removing from skin when rotating or moving during sleep which wakes me up so now I ended up completely removing the ear wing and I will test it more. I think soundcore needs to include foam ear wings. at least now there is an option to use them without any ear wings.

2. the app is filled with soundscapes and different features which can become very overwhelming to pick what is right for you. what worked for me is ANC on with 5% volume of brown noise (white noise), I am very sensitive to sounds around me and with this setup I couldn't even hear my wife's alarm when it went off. ANC does work and I think with foam tips it makes them more powerful. this setup might need to be changed depending on if I am traveling...etc. that said I prefer the sleep ambient sounds that the iPhone offers out of the box than any soundscape soundcore offers even the calm app. so my preference is start with sleep ambient sound read my bible this help me get into sleeping, switch to local mode ANC ON & white noise 5% volume or sometimes without volume. yesterday I had the best night and scored 91 based on sleep data.

3. battery life it looks like they are much better than the original A30, they last the night and I wake up usually with 30% remaining.

4. I love the ease of controls to switch between BT and local mode easily. sometimes I cannot sleep right away I switch to BT to listen to something then when I am about to fall asleep I switch to local. there is an auto switch to local but I haven't really tested this.
5. snore dedication I am not able to test that because my wife does not snore but this is one of the reasons I purchased these earbuds because there are times where I will need to be in a room with others who snore so only time will tell if these will work but my guess that they will because I remember few years ago just using wired earbuds with plane noise playing blocked snoring so I am guessing these will work in the hopes that it will dynamically work and I dont have to wake up.

6. XS ear wing, this is a size that does not come in the original A30 and this is the size that makes these buds very comfortable. however as mentioned for me its more comfortable to completely remove the ear wing so that the silicone feeling does not keep rubbing against my ear skin.

Wish list:
- I wish the sleep data can be synced to apple health and I don't have to wear my watch to sleep. unfortunately currently the sleep data does not sync to iPhone health app
- ear wings: I wish there is foam ear wings not just silicone or another type of material the current ear wing material rubs against the ear during sleep which makes them not comfortable for a side sleeper.

Great product for its price point, strongly recommend.

Absolutely love these buds for sleep but there is one complaint and that is the sounds are looped every 30 seconds, if you have an IPhone there are white sounds that are continuous and much better for sleep.
They are awesome otherwise. 😊

Been wearing regularly ear plugs for over 35 years with shift work, kids and partner being noisy hihi. Anyway bought this on her advice with low expectations and been wearing them for two weeks. What a surprise I find them easier to wear, less irritating and I don’t notice them even sleeping on my side. The background noise can be chosen as for type and adjusted for volume and works great trying to go to sleep and then the ANC takes over blocking other noise such as snoring. I really like them !!!!

They are great! I never heard my husband snore at all and i wasnt worries about sleeping through my alarm with them. I unfortunately have very small and sensitive ears i had to return them. But i would still recommend. 10/10
