Yes, it is. The measurement was taken with the aperture set to the minimum, and the image size set to 60 inches using the move and zoom function. This has also been verified through on-site testing by TÜV.
By applying the NebulaMaster™ 2.0 algorithm, X1 detects the projected image's brightness in real time and adjusts the variable aperture and brightness across grayscale levels to achieve a 5000:1 static contrast ratio and 56000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. This means better image quality, especially under bright ambient lighting.
Yes. NEBULA X1 features Adaptive Al HDR tone mapping, powered by the NebulaMaster™ algorithm. This technology brings out light and dark details in images, creating depth and making images look more realistic and lifelike.
X1 supports a screen size of up to 300 inches (6–10 m/19.7–32.8 ft) with an optical zoom lens (throw ratio 0.9:1 to 1.5:1). For optimal IEA performance, position the projector 1.2–4 m (3.9–13.1 ft) away.See the table below for specific throw distances.
Yes, NEBULA X1 supports 3D projection using DLP Link technology. To experience 3D content, you'll need compatible DLP Link 3D glasses and 3D content.
Compared to the traditional lens shift, the micro gimbal offers two key advantages: 1. Wider Scene Adaptability The built-in micro gimbal supports a pitch angle of up to ±25°, far exceeding the ~5° adjustment range of conventional lens shift. This allows for more flexible placement, from low setups to projecting onto walls up to 3 meters high, all while the device itself is compact and easy to reposition.2. Superior Image Quality Lens shift works by adjusting the lens's position internally, which can lead to reduced clarity especially toward the edges. In contrast, the micro gimbal rotates the entire optical engine. Combined with a high-resolution all-glass lens and wide-range optical zoom, the deivce maintains maximum image sharpness with minimal resolution loss.
NEBULA X1 can be used both indoors and outdoors. During indoor use, its high brightness, high contrast ratio, vivid colors, up to 300'' screen size, 40W stereo sound can deliver an incredibly immersive viewing experience. By using optical zoom technology, you can adjust the screen freely without sacrificing image quality.
Yes, speckle is an inherent issue for tri-laser DLP projectors. To reduce the impact, we've implemented the following solutions:1. Used multi-wavelength lasers to reduce the coherence time of the light source, disrupting the conditions that cause speckle. 2. Added a depolarization device into the optical engine, converting polarized light into unpolarized light. This leads to reduction in the coherence time of the laser, therefore suppressing speckle. 3. Used our exclusive patented U-shaped optical path design, resulting in 2-stage speckle suppression. By using all the methods above, we've achieved an industry-leading speckle contrast ratio, significantly reducing speckle.
Yes. NEBULA X1 features a built-in light sensor that detects ambient light in real time. By factoring in the ambient light brightness and screen size, it adjusts X1's brightness accordingly to ensure the best viewing experience.
The rainbow effect is unavoidable in tri-laser projectors. The projector uses laser beams in three colors, red, green, and blue, which are then projected in rapid sequence onto a screen to form a full-color image. When the human eye tracks moving objects, the Persistence of Vision can cause color layering, resulting in a rainbow effect. To combat this, the refresh rate of Nebula X1 has been increased to 240Hz (compared to 60Hz typical in DLP projectors), thus reducing or eliminating the visibility of the rainbow effect for most people. In addition, we recommend sitting at a reasonable distance from the screen to further reduce visbility of the effect.

Slow menus but picture quality not bad

Works nice, shame they skimped out on the RAM, think it only has 2GB, Google TV is sluggish because of it.Update, like it better with Apple TV hooked up to it, picture doesn’t do the quality justice

Finally! The projector I dreamed about!

It’s what I dreamed a projector would be like when I bought my first cheap portable projector. My first projector was less than 400 ANSI lumens and 1080p. It left me disappointed, but it was super portable. The X1 is an enormous step up in brightness and contrast. I have a place with windows on three walls and I can watch the projector during the day time no problem. The image with two projectors is a cheap projector compared to the one on my ceiling(only place I had room for two projectors).

4k laser rave your trees, ceiling content in middle of day, portable dolby vision- wow.

I've been using this for the past few weeks. Over 500 hours of usage so far. I've been using this in a large variety of environments; as I floated between a few spots in my house and taking it on travel. attached a video of me doing a rave in my trees one night because ... 3000 lumens man. That's really how this thing shines. First and foremost it's a quality projector that is both bright and adaptable enough to fit 'non-perfect' environments. As it doesn't take long, nor in depth fidgiting to get it working well in a new area, means you can move it. You don't have to have the one spot you have to have it it, it's portable enough to move. You can get some pretty ludicrous but still excellent positioning on it to; doing some things you'd never want to do with other projectors. Currently mines sitting about 2 feet from my head, pointing at the ceiling. It's 12pm, with only light filtering shades up, and I still only have it on 50% brightness, yet watching a 4k stream of space. It's doing this while sitting on a box, slightly raised to ensure the heat dissipation fan is able to keep the liquid cooler running (because the heat vents out the back). There's so many different reasons this wouldn't work with other projectors on the market (Noise, lumens, ability to position it, ability to adapt to the position with focus setting, etc). The audio is surprisingly good. That and the water cooling I think contribute to the heft of the unit. Last picture shows a cloudy day, no blinds or curtains up, yet the picture is beautiful on the ceiling.Best recommendation I have if you do get this and you don't get the expensive carrying case, is keep the box this comes in. It has molded cushioning in it that helps greatly with carrying this thing around from house to house. That and if you opt for a vertical direction projection make sure the fan air remains unblocked in the back, as the side holes in it don't dissipate heat.I played all kinds of content with this to. Anything google android can play. I sideloaded a few apps on it to. Everything from 4k HDR youtube to lots of Dolby Vision files. I have a mesh network with dedicated backhauls operating at the near max of consumer grade wifi; there was no lag or latency on the device. When operating on less pristine wireless environments I noticed the SW had a hard time keeping the buffer or links to the media stable. I can't really blame that, it's just a factor moreso of Android they have loaded onto it and the apps it generally comes with. I can say I had no issues when attached to my top tier wireless. I had more issues doing hardline HDMI connections to it but that's more to do with ensuring everything in the chain actually outputs right (Connector, cable, and content all need to be outputing at 48 Gbps if you want stable 4k 60hz HDR; and it always is rough chasing something that gets dodgy).Having used it for nearly a month and hundreds of hours I can say there's nothing like this at this price point and the value is there if you want to have video projection in non-optimal environments, while maintaining portability, and you want some of the best video quality capable out of a projector you can get outside of the movie theater high $$$ ones.

A visual powerhouse

This projector is nothing short of a home theater powerhouse. From the moment I powered it on, I could tell this was a premium device. The 4K projection delivers razor-sharp clarity, incredibly vivid colors, and deep blacks thanks to the Dolby Vision support. Even in moderately lit rooms, it looks great.Setup is impressively easy, largely due to the built-in micro gimbal and AI-powered auto-keystone and focus adjustments. Within seconds, the projector was aligned and focused perfectly — a feature that makes this perfect for frequent movers or shared living spaces. The 40W stereo speakers sound rich and loud enough to rival soundbars. It actually surprised me how good the built-in audio was — full-bodied, immersive, and distortion-free even at higher volumes.

Worthwhile add-on for those craving a more full sound profile

They add a nice “oomph” to the sound experience of the nebula x1. While the x1 by itself is pretty nice sounding, ESPECIALLY for a projector, these satellite speakers ensure the sound evenly fills the room. Still a bit short of that “home theater” sound, but absolutely amazing for a portable and convenient system setup! Keep up the good work Anker, I’m glad I received these!
