I walk around with the two I have. They fit right into my cargo pants pockets or my coat. They Bluetooth together and make for a great sound and loud enough to hear over traffic noise.

I am very satisfied with this purchase. This speaker has a great frequency range and really great sound, this combined with the aptxHD codec is very good. It sounds even better if you connect it directly with a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable.

These Motion + speakers are easily comparable to the significantly more expensive JBL Charge 5's.

The Charge 5 stands out on the initial listen with much deeper and stronger bass that will adequately fill a room especially as a stereo pair. The mids and highs are forward and project with intensity for a speaker about the size of a 32oz. insulated bottle.

The Motion + speakers are slightly slimmer and a pleasant surprise, despite the reduced bass as these are simply more nuanced and natural.

The aptX codec is more stable on Android vs SBC on the JBL's that drops off and takes longer to come back into stereo sync. if playback is paused for more than a couple seconds. Upon powering, the Soundcores lock into stereo and have significantly lower latency which is nice for video. Doing the same with the Charge 5's would lead to a dance to connect to one speaker, open the app and if another phone had been connected the stereo connection would be hesitant or the L/R positions may switch. Audible hash on both pairs of Charge 5's and Flip 6's around 5kHz-10kHz may be due to compression artifacts with the SBC codec. The Soundcore aptX implementation is seamless with a silent start up and connection sequence. No lights on the front is great! When synced, powering one speaker down will automatically power down the other without distracting chimes; this warrants a chef's kiss. 16 bit 48kHz is the default in the device settings with HD audio; it would be great if LDAC was an option, even at a higher price point.

While it seems the Motion + speakers are somewhat recessed out of the box, there is more clarity and balance across the midrange; these are the superior choice with vocals. Queuing Legend - Bob Marley & The Wailers: "Waiting in Vain" from the Barry Diament remaster makes for a stark comparison; the Charge 5's sound bigger and more aggressive but are shouty and nasal in the upper midrange. The JBL bass stands out, adding an instant vibe to the room but is very boomy.

Settling in with the Motion + the midrange into the higher frequencies remains fluid, open and easygoing. Despite the significantly diminished JBL rumble, detail near field or as background fill blends unobtrusively at moderate volumes. As a stereo pair, the fatigue free tuning draws one into the venue with honest timbre, even for brasses. For EDM and Hip-hop, the Charge 5 will command attention but at a desk or tucked in the dash of a golf cart the Motion + has impressive depth. Playing a dynamic recording such as Billy Cobham - STUDIO LIVE SESSION from LITTLE BIG BEAT STUDIOS drives the point home as the piercing highs on the fun and sporty looking JBL's leave your ears aching after only a short session when turned up, while the Motions get out of the way of the music.

Placing each speaker about 35-40" apart from the outer ends, the center of each grill about 33" back from the nose and 13-15" below ear level is a delight. Sitting back with a tablet in hand these are quite enveloping. Considering the limitations of compact, battery powered speakers that will slide into the water bottle pockets of an average backpack is entertaining.

The JBL Flip 6's vs the Charge 5's is not a fair fight. The 5's are much clearer across the mid to high frequencies; the Motion + remain the most pleasant if coming from a decent pair of headphones or monitors.

Alan Ross does a great review of these under Anker Soundcore Motion Plus Best EQ on YT. I was comforted by a worthwhile improvement with his EQ settings; the critical but fun presentation bears great fruit. There are some sins of commission with minor hiss whenever the speakers are on. This is present regardless of EQ and is fairly subtle such that one could call it tube noise if it helps stay on this very green side of the class-D fence.

Calling Bose, Sony and JBL beat on the midrange fidelity in this size class and absolutely on price, ...once the EQ is adjusted to one's liking.

For most of these smaller speakers, keeping the volume around 40-52% maintains acceptable bass. For casual listening at the desk this is more than decent. The 80Hz roll off can be forgiven when bumping a little Tiësto between shots on course as the bass will bleed less from the cart.

Update: Connected a BluDento BLT-HD into the Motion + aux input to test out LDAC at the 24/96kHz connection and it is a nice improvement. The higher bit rate, SNR and possibly the neutral TI PCM5102A DAC of the BLT-HD brought out more detail and fleshed out the midrange. Running wired: USB to the Massdrop x Grace Design SDAC to the aux in, even connected to only one speaker shows the merit of the Soundcore stereo design. The tambourine in Waiting in Vain is more vibrant, stage widens and midrange tone fleshes out. The charming SDAC with AKM AK4452 hides few faults, plus zero latency for videos. The custom app EQ remains on the speaker if using the BluDento or with Bluetooth off and USB to the DAC.

Excellent packable speakers!

It's all about the sound about this speaker I can say. And the Soundcore Motion + sounds wonderful, the app is good. I don't use the base boost mode, but a V shaped EQ.
But the design is not so good, especially in all black.
